HMO plans are designed to help your employees save money. A participating primary care physician (PCP) coordinates all of their care and refers them to in-network specialists. Emergency and urgent care coverage is also available outside the U.S.
POS and Direct POS plans provide both in- and out-of-network coverage. With a POS plan, members get the highest level of benefits by asking their PCP for a referral to specialists in network. With Direct POS, referrals are only needed for laboratory services, 1 routine radiology and diagnostic services, physical/occupational therapy, spinal manipulation, and acupuncture.
Coverage for employees who are temporarily outside of the service area is also available through the Away From Home Care ® program.
PPO plans offer your employees the flexibility to choose in-network or out-of-network providers without a referral. The choice is always theirs to make. Higher out-of-pocket costs may apply for out-of-network care.
Our HDHPs are PPO plans that help give your employees more control over planning and paying for qualified health care expenses. Choice Advantage plans include Site of Service benefits to help members save on out-of-pocket costs based on where they receive care. Members have the choice to save hundreds of dollars in some cases.
For example, members can save on outpatient surgery by choosing an ambulatory surgery center instead of a hospital, or they can save by choosing LabCorp ® instead of getting bloodwork at a hospital.
